• 1988: Merges his cable systems operating division with United Artists Communications to regain focus on his brokerage business and development of regional sports ventures.
• 1988: Becomes majority owner of Prime Ticket Network, acquiring 83.3 percent.
• 1988: Presents an $11 million matching grant to the University of Denver to better shape its graduate school of business, resulting in a more comprehensive MBA program and school "Boot Camp" to prepare students for the business world.
• 1988: Establishes the Young Americans Education Foundation to expand bank seminars and workshops.
• 1989: Receives the "Fame and Fortune Award" for his commitment to the highest standards of advertising from the Denver Advertising Federation.
