CTC COMMUNICATIONS TO ACQUIRE CONNECTICUT BROADBAND,
INTERNET & TELEPHONE SERVICE PROVIDER

--CTC Continues execution of growth strategy with second major transaction of 2005

“We welcome the customers and employees of Connecticut Broadband to CTC,” said Ray Allieri, president and chief executive officer at CTC Communications.  “This transaction reaffirms CTC’s commitment to providing businesses across the Northeast with enhanced telecommunication services.  This expansion of our secure network enables us to offer integrated voice, data and Internet bundles to businesses at very competitive prices.”

“Connecticut Broadband and CTC share a business philosophy that focuses on strong client relationships and responsive customer service,” said Bill Kaliszewski, president and CEO, Connecticut Broadband.  “This transaction strengthens our ability to provide next generation telecom services while our Connecticut-based staff continues to deliver personalized attention to customers.“

“This transaction further improves the density of CTC’s network penetration and associated economics,” explained Kenneth Peterson, Jr., chairman of CTC and CEO of Columbia Ventures, parent of CTC.  “Profitable growth provides our company and customers with significant advantages. Increased scale allows us to provide more cost-effective solutions to our customers.  We intend to become the premier competitive telecommunications service for businesses from Maine through the Mid-Atlantic.”

Daniels & Associates, L.P. of Denver, CO represented Connecticut Broadband in the transaction. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.  The companies expect to receive prompt approval from regulatory agencies.

The acquisition of Connecticut Broadband is the second major transaction by CTC Communications in less than six months.  In May 2005, Lightship Telecom merged with CTC Communications.
