DANIELS LEADS NATION IN 2005 TELECOMMUNICATIONS TRANSACTIONS

DENVER - Daniels & Associates announced its 2005 performance today, disclosing that it completed 72 transactions with an aggregate value of over $2.7 billion. This included 38 mergers & acquisitions and 34 corporate finance and financial advisory transactions for domestic and international clients in the cable, telecommunications, media and technology industries.

According to deal-tracker Thomson Financial, Daniels led the nation in the number of completed mergers & acquisitions involving U.S. telecommunications companies in 2005. Thomson ranked Daniels number one with 29 completed M&A transactions for its domestic telecommunications clients in the cable television, broadcast, towers, wireless and wireline telecom sectors. Daniels regularly tops this list and also ranked number one in the number of deals closed in these sectors for the years 2000 through 2005 with 227 deals.

The Thomson Financial ranking includes only a portion of Daniels’ total deals. Specifically, it does not include corporate finance or financial advisory transactions. Nor does it include certain technology, international or confidential M&A transactions.

Daniels’ performance surpassed all of the most prominent firms on Wall Street in the number of completed M&A transactions in these sectors.

“2005 was a very productive year,” said Brian Deevy, Daniels’ chief executive officer. “We continued to be the most active M&A advisor in our key sectors of the communications business and helped a wide variety of clients achieve their strategic and financial goals.”

Daniels advised on transactions involving many prominent operating and financial companies such as Alltel Communications, Altice One, Black Hills Corporation, Cdigix, Cequel III, Charter Communications, Chinook Wireless, Connecticut Broadband, Contec Corporation, Cox Communications, Crestview Partners, Dianet Communications, Dobson Cellular Systems, Globicom Wireless, Highland Cellular, ICG Communications, JobsInTheUS, Leap Wireless, Lite Wave Communications, MidOcean Partners, ML Media Partners, Nautic Partners, Northland Cable, Power One Media, Rapid Communications, Service Electric, Universal Access, Wisdom Media and Xcel Energy.

“Our clients rely on us because of our industry expertise and long-standing relationships, which come from our many years of specializing in the cable, telecom, media and technology sectors.” said Brad Busse, Daniels’ president and chief operating officer.

Founded in 1958, Daniels & Associates, L.P. provides mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance and financial advisory services to the cable, telecommunications, media and technology sectors worldwide. Daniels is a member of the NASD and SIPC.
